What MyChatIEP is

MyChatIEP helps families and special-education advocates understand IEPs and Section 504 plans, keep a case file, and work together. Advocates also run their practice in it: clients, an agenda, and appointments that can carry a video meeting. We provide educational information, not legal advice.

Google Calendar

  • Connect: Settings, Google Calendar, Connect. Google asks you to allow MyChatIEP to manage the events of your appointments and to see when you are busy.
  • Disconnect: Settings, Google Calendar, Disconnect. We revoke our access and delete the token; events already on your calendar stay there. You can also remove MyChatIEP at myaccount.google.com/connections.

Zoom

  • Connect: Settings, Meeting links, Connect Zoom, then allow MyChatIEP on Zoom’s screen.
  • Use: when you add an appointment in the Agenda, choose “Zoom (a new meeting)” under Video call. The meeting is created with the waiting room on, moves when the appointment moves, and is deleted when the appointment is deleted. The family receives the join link with the appointment.
  • Disconnect: Settings, Meeting links, Disconnect. Removing the MyChatIEP app from your Zoom account (Zoom App Marketplace, Manage, Added apps) does the same: we delete your tokens. Meetings already made stay in your Zoom account.

Dialpad

Dialpad meetings work the same way as Zoom once Dialpad is available for your account: Settings, Meeting links, Connect Dialpad.

Privacy and your data

What each connection reads and stores, and when it is deleted, is in our Privacy Policy. Our Terms of Service cover the rest.
